My third collaborative outing with NY-based artist Brian Alfred. Our first film - Overload, back in 2004 - was a more-or-less literal translation of his paintings set in motion. Our second, Beauty in Danger in 2014, is a more abstract interpretation of his work.
This time we switched up the format, with Brian taking my photographs and re-imagining them in his aesthetic, which we then both took and animated. Capped off with a wonderful score by NZCA Lines, it's an introspective journey through interrupted vistas and forgotten monuments.
